Big News! The Lumen larp Script Book is now available. In this document, you will find all the information needed to run Lumen and the workshops surrounding it.
Lumen is an educational larp (edu-larp) developed as part of a curriculum on transformative analog role-playing game (RPG) design. It guides players through an experience of personal transformation through their characters that is tied to their own personal goals as participants that they decide in pre-game workshops. While this experience is facilitated by non player-characters (NPCs) known as Guides, the characters are taught the basics of transformative RPG design and given a structure for creating short nano-games for other characters based on each other’s chosen goals.
Lumen was developed as part of an Erasmus+ project called EDGE by partners from Avalon Larp Studio, Chaos League, Dragons Nest, Uppsala University, and Turku University of Applied Sciences, as well as expertise from volunteer Josephine Rydberg from Stockholm University of the Arts.
You can download the Lumen PDF for free here at this link.
A print on demand hardcopy will be available shortly from DriveThruRPG.

Lumen is a larp about a group of seeming strangers – the seekers – who attend a retreat at a mysterious location known only as “Hope.”
There is magic to be found at Hope, for those who truly need it. Through unorthodox rituals and mystical practices the seekers confront their deepest struggles and guide others through processes of transformation. Secrets unravel, bonds form, and relationships are tested. Will they find healing—or something far more unexpected?
Embrace the journey of change, build a community, support others, and rediscover hope in this unique, immersive experience. Lumen is designed to teach elements of transformational analog role-playing game design through play itself.
