Reflection Journal 5: Safer Community Container Setting and You

Choose one (1) item to examine under Cultures of Care.

Watch John Stavropoulos’ “Innovating for Growth: Designing a Culture of Safety in Games” (1 hr 31 minutes).

Then, answer the following questions:

  1. Describe the Cultures of Care article you read in 1-2 sentences. According to the authors, why is this topic important when considering community safety? 
    • Do you have any personal experience with this topic? If so, please describe. 
    • If not, consider a circumstance in which it might be important to consider this topic.
  1. Discuss three (3) points Stavropoulos makes with regard to ways to innovate games through safety design with 1-2 sentences each. Then, answer the following questions for each point:
    • How might this practice promote growth? Be specific.
    • What specific example does Stavropoulos provide, if any? Can you think of other examples?
