Discussion 6: Group Work, Listening, and Feedback

Watch Diakolambrianou and Bowman’s “Groups: Processes, Dynamics, Facilitation and Creativity.”

Read Leonard and Arango’s “The Dynamic Life Cycle of Live Action Role-play Communities.”

Then, answer the following questions:

  1. Briefly describe three (3) theories discussed by Diakolambrianou and Bowman in 1-2 sentences each. For each theory, answer:
  1. Does theory resonate with your experiences in groups? If so, how?

  2. How might this theory inform your group container setting in future transformative role-playing game facilitation? Be specific.

  1. In 1-2 sentences, describe the life-cycle derived model of larp group dynamics as discussed by Leonard and Arango.
  1. Have you seen these dynamics in your own communities, role-playing or otherwise? If so, please describe.
