Discussion 5: Group Work, Listening, and Feedback

Choose one (1) of the following:

  • Watch Diakolambrianou and Bowman’s “Groups: Processes, Dynamics, Facilitation and Creativity” or
  • Review section “3.8: Theories of Interaction” from Chapter 3 by Diakolambrianou et al. of Transformative Role-playing Game Design.
  • Optional: Read Leonard and Arango’s “The Dynamic Life Cycle of Live Action Role-play Communities.”

Then, answer the following questions:

  1. Briefly describe three (3) theories discussed by Diakolambrianou and Bowman in 1-2 sentences each. For each theory, answer the following in a paragraph:
  1. Does theory resonate with your experiences in groups? If so, how?
    • If not, why?
  2. How might this theory inform your group container setting in future transformative role-playing game facilitation? Be specific.
    • If not at all, why?

Finally, respond to at least two (2) of your peers in Ask a Question, Answer a Question format.
