Discussion 9: Implementation Team Feedback Brainstorm
Review Chapter 3 of Implementing until the end of section “3.2 ii: Run-time roles” (pp. 116-120).
—
For this discussion, we will be doing an asynchronous role-playing exercise. Each of you will play specialists on a design team working on this scaled project. Even if the project is smaller scale than would normally necessitate these roles, consider what expertise this character would contribute to the team.
1) Attach your Major Assignment 1: Scaling Implementation Plan.
2) Respond to the work of one (1) of your peers as one (1) as if you are giving feedback on a design proposal from your project leader. Choose a peer who has not yet received feedback on their work. Give at least five (5) sentences of feedback, including your recommendations and at least one (1) question. The roles are:
- Project manager
- Producer
- Accountant
- Physical logistics specialist
- Scenographer
- Communication specialist
- Safety specialist
- Accessibility specialist
- Cultural consultant / sensitivity reader
- Diversity, equity, and inclusion specialist
- Therapeutic specialist
- Workshop designer
- Documentation lead
- Worldbuilder
- Narrative designer
- Character writer
- Sound designer
- Graphic designer
Then, de-role, separating the next question with three asterisks (* * *).
3) Write a brief reflection about your experience playing that role on a team.
- Did you find it relatable? Why or why not?
- Did you find it illuminating? Why or why not?
- Do you think this role might be helpful to you when implementing your scaled project? Why or why not?
